Guide
How it works
- Choose content
Select the type at the top – link, text, Wi-Fi, contact, email, phone, SMS or location – and fill in the fields. The preview updates instantly.
- Design
Adjust colors and the shape of the modules and corners, and add a logo if needed. With a logo, error correction is automatically set to H so that the code stays readable.
- Check readability
Below the preview you see whether contrast and margin are sufficient. The safest is a dark code on a light background with a margin of at least 4 modules.
- Download
SVG for print (stays sharp at any size), PNG for websites and presentations. Test with several phones before printing.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Do the QR codes expire?
No. The content is stored directly in the code – there is no redirect through a third-party service that could be switched off. A link QR code works as long as the linked page exists.
Can I change the content later?
Not in the printed code itself. If the target should change, link to your own address (e.g. example.com/promo) and redirect it to the new target with the Redirect Generator when needed.
What does error correction mean?
A QR code contains reserve data so that it remains readable even if part of it is dirty or covered: L up to 7%, M 15%, Q 25%, H 30%. More correction makes the code denser. H is sensible for logos and print.
How large does a printed QR code need to be?
As a rule of thumb, at least 2 × 2 cm (about 0.8 × 0.8 in) for short content, more for longer content. About a tenth of the reading distance: from 1 meter (about 3 feet) away, the code should be around 10 cm (4 in) wide.
Why is there no share link?
So that Wi-Fi passwords and contact details do not end up in links, browser history or chat logs. Download the code as an image instead.
How do you scan a Wi-Fi QR code?
On iPhone and Android, simply open the camera app and point it at the code – the phone then offers to connect to the network.
